# Why does a recording link stop working when I copy it?

Each time you open a recording, a fresh short-lived signed link is generated, and playback links are never stored. So a copied URL expires shortly after.

To play the recording again, reopen the call from Call Logs; a new playback link is minted each time. This keeps recordings private and secure rather than sitting behind a permanent shareable URL.
